It was a great night to audience Duke Wellington Orchestra at Elizabeth Stadium today. It has been years I haven't been to this Stadium since I left secondary school. And it was my first time been there after it renovated. It is like enlightened and more fashionable now.
I was surprised to see many people there, but having said that still quite a numbers of empty seats. It was a great night to hear big band. I guess it is also my first time seeing big band live. I am not a big band fan. But I was so flushed once I entered the stadium and saw the stage. I was so hyper and happy. I have forgotten Jazz always makes me happy, although it also can bring up the sadness. The band was great and I enjoyed every single minute.
One surprise was, I didn't know there was a guest tonight, Elaine Lui. I knew that when the band was introducing her. She is the only HK in the Jazz scene, who else?
I was so upset of her appearance, although I have been her big fan. The passion has faded these days. I think she is just not to the standard to play with the world well known band and it caused embarrassment. Yes...the performance was...................and I was hoping that was the last song for her. She did sing 3........ouch. It was quite interesting to see her acting like an exciting fan on the stage....I could feel that she was sooooooooooo happy and exciting. But.....it was really boring bit of the show.
I am so glad to have that feeling back. The happiness that Jazz gives me. I should be more active and get myself back. And I feel that I should learn more about music theory in order to enhance the enjoyment and understand the music better. It also reminds me Clarinet is actually a beautiful instrument. And I should pick it up again. So shameful to give up so fast of learning it.
Stays Cool and keep going!
