I don't know if the Western invented Bread. But I only realized today why I don't like eating bread when I am in Hong Kong.
I am not sure if you have also realized actually Bread in Hong Kong and Bread you find in western countries are actually different. The bread in the west looks more like what it is made of, which means you have the feeing you know what you are eating (the ingredients). It makes me feel healthy and great. Maybe even would like to keep the habit.
In Hong Kong, bread looks like a cake. I don't know why ALL breads are yellowish. No matter "Pineapple bread" "Sausage bread" "Luncheon meat bread", they come from the same dough but adding different stuffing. When think deeper, bread in Hong Kong is not bread, I would say it is more like a cake and that's why I don't like. I think EGG would be the major ingredient of Bread in Hong Kong while not the case in the West. I feel like I was cheated for so many years about the meaning of what actually Bread is.
