讀後感：《The game of life and how to play it》

不知不覺間，這裡變成了讀後感·分享部落。隨著我的成長轉變，這裡也跟着轉變了。現在閱讀變成了我很大的快樂及滿足感的來源。年青時自己有很多興趣，現在剩下來不多，閱讀成為了我持續的習慣及興趣。

最近看了 Florence Scovel Shinn 一百年前出版的書：《The game of life and how to play it》。厲害的地方是 Internet Archive 將書掃描，不用買就可以閱讀。

Florence Scovel Shinn

Florence Scovel Shinn (1987-1940) 是一位美國作家、插畫師、靈性導師及基督徒。她的曾曾祖父 Francis Hopkinson (1737–1791) 大有來頭，是當年代表賓夕凡尼亞州簽訂 Declaration Independence。而 Florence 也是在賓州接受教育，就讀 Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts 。

我一直以為美國的身心靈發展始於 50年代，但認識了 Florence Scovel Shinn 後才發現了比 New Age 更早的  New Thought Movement (1830s–1914) 。 

令我感興趣的是到底 Florence 接觸了甚麼及有甚麼的經驗讓她踏上了靈性的道路，而又是甚麼影響了她，讓她對 Game of Life 中的法則深信不疑及成為該套理論的導師？在閱讀 The game of life 的時候，必須要代入她的時代背景才會明白我剛提出的問題。更不可思議的是她當年真的走得很「前」。

The Game of Life and How to Play It 總括來說就是一本吸引力法則的書。在Rhonda Byrme的《秘密》（英語：The Secret）大行其道的 一百年前，Florence 已經在實踐及推廣吸引力法則 The Law of Attraction。從書中感受到 Florence 是一位虔誠的基督徒，但內容卻充滿着印度教或佛學的學說，例如因果輪迴。

Florence 解釋為何有些人出身富有，擁有健康的身體； 相反有些人出生貧窮，體弱多病。她說一切皆出於因果，沒有巧合。她說人因為因果業力及未被滿足的慾望，不斷轉世，一方面是還 Karmic debts，另一方面是履行 Devine Plan。她說只有明白「真相」才可以走出輪迴。

「真相」是甚麼？

如其他的 New Age 學說一樣，我們活在幻象之中，相信時間，過去、現在、未來，人生的結束就是死亡。但Florence 指出「真相」，真正的人（Spirit man) 是沒有生也沒有死，只有現在(當下）。只要明白這個道理，我們便能脫離輪迴。這個說法與很多 New Age 的作者與及宗教不謀而合，令我進一步心思這個說法及真確性。

The Law of ...............

書中以不同的 law , 如 Law of non-resistance, Law of Prosperity, Law of Karmic, Law of Forgiveness, Law of Love 去解釋 game of life and how to play it. 

用一個簡單的說法就是你同宇宙 （或是作者心中的God, 視乎你認為誰是這個宇宙的負責人) 落單，宇宙收到你的order，祂就會安排。Florence 是透過 affirmation 去落單，書的細節就是教你了解系統如何運作並如何落單才有效。

Receive and Give, a balanced channel

我從小都不愛受人恩惠，很多時候不加思索便直接拒絕，直到前兩年才開始改變。以前這樣給人有點難以親近的感覺。我從不問回報為人付出，但總是拒絕別人的offer 幫助，因為我不想欠人情。

兩年前才明白令得到別人的幫助也是一種福氣而且關係才能加深，自此， 當有需要時，我不會介意請人幫忙及恩然接受別人的offer。Florence 書中提及give and take 是一條需要平衡的管道。

• Giving opens the way for receiving. In order to create activity in finances, one should give.

• There is always perfect balance of giving and receiving, and though man should give without thinking of returns。He violates law if he does not accept the returns which come to him; for all gifts are from god, man being merely the channel. 

我的經驗

我從中學起已經有所謂「吸引力發則」的經驗，當然那時還不知道甚麼是吸引力發則。一切只是出於很純粹的渴望及自然的要求。

當時我很想要一個無可能的關係，而那個關係我已經渴望了 6 年。直到差不多中學畢業，如果不在畢業前開展這段關係，便再沒有機會。於是我向天要求，要求衪給我，然後我還加了一句：「我願意用我的生命交換」。結果我得了癌症，而因為我這個病換來我一直渴望的關係。

之後，我還有幾次沒有可能的「開單」經驗，只要有單一純真的渴望，只要你要求，不要想其他，就會成真。直至我看了 Florence 的 game of life，就好似解釋了我的經驗。所以我相信這是與生俱來的能力，不過社會及世界的教育真是相反，因為這是轉對不科學的學說。所以要接受及實踐 Florence 的理論是一件非常困難及難以相信的事。要不是有我自身的經歷，我也很難相信Florence 的說法。

‘How long must one remain in the dark” Answer: “ Until one can see in the dark” and “casting the burden enables one to see in the dark”

"I am fully equipped for the Divine Plan of my life and be fearless in grasping opportunities."

"I give thanks for the perfect day, miracle shall follow miracle and wonders shall never cease. "

Casting the burden:

I put this situation in the hands of Infinite Love and Wisdom; if this trip is Divine plan, I bless it and no longer resist, but if is not divinely planned, I give thanks that it is now dissolved and dissipate. 

I cast this burden of resentment on the Christ within, and I go free, to be loving, harmonious and happy.
